THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister Antony Raju has said that a new system has been set up where doctors can upload the required medical certificates for obtaining and renewing a driving license. For this, a registration facility will be provided to the recognized doctors on the 'Sarathi' portal of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Registered doctors can examine the applicants and submit the medical certificate online. This system will ensure the authenticity of medical certificates and eliminate forged certificates. This will also avoid any inconvenience to the public in uploading paper medical certificates. He said the system was part of the drive to bring the entire services of the Department of Motor Vehicles online.
