Pak Supreme Court sets aside dissolution of National Assembly, no-confidence vote against Imran Khan fixed on Saturday

LAHORE: In a setback for Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country's Supreme Court on Thursday set aside the rejection of the no-trust vote by the Opposition.

The court further set aside other steps including the dissolution of the National Assembly and fixed April 9 as the date for the no-confidence vote.

The Pak court deemed the Deputy Speaker's ruling on the no-confidence vote unconstitutional in a unanimous judgment.

In the present scenario, it would be difficult for Imran Khan to prove a majority if a no-confidence motion is held. It is likely that even members of the ruling party are likely to vote against Imran.
