KANNUR: Numerous people, including delegates and leaders from various states, have come to Kannur to attend the 23rd CPM party congress. Former Tripura Chief Minister and senior Left leader Manik Sarkar has also arrived in Kannur.

Manik Sarkar served as the chief minister of Tripura for 20 years. During all those years, he gave his entire salary to the party. He lived on only Rs 9700, which was returned to him by the party. He does not own any house or vehicle. Sarkar, who devoted his whole life to the party, had lived in the party office after resigning from the chief minister’s post.
