Statement should be in favour of Dileep, should say as lawyer teaches; phone conversation influencing witness surfaces

KOCHI: The audio influencing the witness in the actress attack case is out. The audio between Dileep's brother-in-law Sooraj and Dr Hyderali has surfaced. We can hear Sooraj asking the doctor to speak in favour of Dileep. Sooraj is heard requesting the doctor to say that Dileep was in the hospital at the time the actress was attacked. In his statement to the investigating officials, Dr Hyderali said that Dileep was not admitted then. Sooraj demanded to correct this statement. The doctor, a prosecution witness, later turned hostile.

Dr Hyderali: The police will have a copy, won't they?

Sooraj: That copy is no longer relevant... so it doesn't matter. Our statement will be written in the court. That will be looked into from now on. That is why the witness is called to give his statement.

Dr Hyderali: Is the date in it ok?

Sooraj: That copy is in the hands of the advocate. The lawyer has asked to meet in the mid of March.

Dr Hyderali: What’s so far?

Sooraj: So far no problems. The lawyer will look into everything. Say as the lawyer teaches us. The trial has not yet started. We just have to go once and there are no other problems.

Dr Hyderali: Where is chettan now?

Sooraj: Chettan is in Ernakulam. He is here because of the case.

Dileep had claimed that he was hospitalised for fever at the time the actress was attacked. Meantime, the investigating team will question Dileep’s wife Kavya Madhavan on Monday. She is questioned based on the audio clip received from Sooraj’s phone. Sooraj in his conversation with Sarath, industrialist and Dileep’s friend, said Kavya wanted to put her friends in trouble but it was taken over by Dileep. The audio clips produced in the high court by the crime branch puts Kavya on the defensive.
