Noose tightens for Dileep and family? Crime Branch records Manju Warrier’s statement, crucial information collected

KOCHI: The crime branch has recorded Manju Warrier’s statement in connection with the actress attack case. Manju’s statements were taken at a hotel in Kochi, as part of further investigation. Manju has identified the voices of Dileep, his brother Anoop and brother-in-law Suraj.

Hints suggest that crucial information pertaining to the conspiracy are included in Manju’s statement. Reports state that the investigating officers have asked the actress some questions based on the information obtained from checking Dileep's phones.

Dileep had earlier admitted that some of the voice clips were his own. But, he claimed that the most significant ones were mimicry. During his interrogation along with Dileep, director Balachandrakumar had reiterated that the voice recorded in the tablet was real and not fake.

On February 8, Dileep, Suraj and Anoop were taken to the Kakkanad Chithranjali studio and their voice samples were collected. The investigation team will receive the sample’s results by next week only. Apart from this, Manju was asked to identify the audio clips for authentication.

Manju Warrier and Dileep have lived together for 15 years. Hence, the actress can easily recognize the voice of the actor’s family members. The crime branch has received legal advice that this will strengthen the case. The sound samples were also played to Dileep's friends in a similar manner. Meantime, Dileep’s wife and actress Kavya Madhavan will be questioned in connection with the case, on Monday.
