Congress government in Chhattisgarh to celebrate Ram Navami Day; active moves to retain power through Hindutva route

RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh Congress is making moves against the BJP in order to retain power in the assembly polls due in next year. The state government is attempting to retain power through the Hindutva route. As part of it, Ram Navami Day celebrations are being extensively organized under the leadership of the government.

The government is also planning the timely execution of its ambitious project ‘Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit’ that runs from north to southern part of the state. The project aims to link nine places where Lord Ram is believed to have travelled during his 14-year-exile. In connection with this, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate the launch ceremony of the renovated Shivrinarayan temple on Ram Navami Day (April 10). Shivrinarayan temple is one of the nine sites visited by Lord Ram during his 14-year-exile.

“We have planned to develop Shivirinarayan on the lines of Ayodhya. Chhattisgarh has a glorious past associated with Ramayana. The state government is developing nine places under the Ram Van Gaman Path and Shivrinarayan is the second on the list after Mata Kaushalya temple”, said the chief minister.

The state government is also holding a Ramayana recital contest at the Shivrinarayan temple as part of the launch of the first phase work of the ‘Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit’. Numerous troupes comprising of 350 eminent artists from 25 districts of the state are participating in the three-day recital competition.
