NEW DELHI: The students backed by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and Left-backed students clashed on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus here on Sunday.
ABVP, the student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, protested at the JNU campus, demanding that non-vegetarian food should not be prepared in the mess on the occasion of Ram Navami.
The ABVP also alleged that the NSUI and Left-backed students prevented them from worshipping on Ram Navami.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police officials have reached here to ascertain details about the situation. The police officials said that appropriate legal action will be taken on the basis of the complaint.
Reportedly, about 10 people have been injured in the clash and have been shifted to the nearby hospitals. Some students are still protesting at the campus.
