LUCKNOW: A school in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad has temporarily suspended offline classes as three students tested positive for Covid-19. The cases were reported at K R Mangalam World School in Vaishali. Last day, two Covid cases were confirmed in another school in Ghaziabad as well.

The offline classes have been temporarily suspended as more students have been tested positive. The school has also taken measures to sanitize the entire campus and buses. Offline classes had begun in the state in last February as Covid surge was brought under control.

The authorities are seriously considering the spread of infection in students. Recently, the Omicron XE variant was detected in a Mumbai native, who arrived in Gujarat’s Wadodara. This has also raised concerns in the country. Earlier, the country was warned of a possible fourth Covid wave in June.

In the wake of growing concerns, the Union Health Ministry has issued alerts to five states, including Kerala. In addition to Kerala, alerts have been issued in states such as Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana and Mizoram. With the decrease in Covid cases, most of the restrictions including masks have been completely lifted in many of these states.
