THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are likely to lash the state on Wednesday as well. The meteorological department has predicted isolated rains in different parts of the state. It is likely to rain heavily in the afternoon. The rains are caused by the cyclone in the Bay of Bengal.
Yellow alert has been declared in seven districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki. Thundershowers and winds up to 60 kilometre per hour are likely in the state. Heavy rains may continue till Friday.

Authorities have warned fishermen to remain vigilant and refrain from fishing in the coasts of Kerala and Lakshadweep on Wednesday, due to the possibility of heavy rains and winds.
