Kendriya Vidyalaya admission: Special quotas scrapped

NEW DELHI: All special quotas including MP quota for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas have been stopped. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan headquarters directed all regional offices not to admit students under the special quota.

But KV school officials say this is a temporary order. The Union Education Minister's quota was scrapped last year.

Stopped: MPs, only girl in the house, MPs' children and grandchildren, children of KV employees, retirees and grandchildren, children of Central Government employees who died in service, children of recipients of high military honors and police medals including Ashoka Chakra, winners of state level sports competitions; scout winning medal from President, students winning bravery award, national teacher award winners' children, national level fine arts award winners.
