THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CITU has once again lashed out at Transport Minister Antony Raju. The trade union alleged that the minister has now turned against the KSRTC employees.
"We too had worked to make Antony Raju a minister. Now, he has turned against the employees," KSRTA state secretary Shanthakumar said.
CITU is protesting against the non-payment of salaries to its employees. The strike led by CITU in front of the KSRTC headquarters has entered its third day. KSRTC has not yet received the Rs 30 crore sanctioned by the Finance Department due to bank holidays in the last few days.
Shanthakumar said the minister had the responsibility to ensure that employees were paid properly. "There is no other department in Kerala where the employees are not getting their salaries. It is unacceptable that the employees alone should bear the brunt of the crisis caused to KSRTC by the diesel price hike and the negligence of the management," he said.
He also said that the employees were hurt by the minister's statement about whether they will get paid if they go on a strike. He also demanded that the minister should intervene to resolve the issue of salary distribution.
