Car accident at Mangalapuram; Speaker Rajesh comes to the aid of baby covered in pool of blood

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Assembly Speaker MB Rajesh on Tuesday came to the help of an eight-month-old baby and its parents who got seriously injured following a car accident on the national highway near Mangalapuram in Thiruvananthapuram. Kaniyapuram native Shebin, his wife Sahara and child Isan are currently undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital.

The accident took place at around 9.30 am on Tuesday. The family was going from Mangalauram to Pallipuram when Shebin lost control of the car. Following this, the car hit a barricade and overturned. Both Sahara and Isan were thrown out of the car through the door that opened due to the impact of the accident. Sahara sustained a neck injury. Shebin, who was driving the car, was wearing a seat belt and was saved from being thrown out of the car. He did not suffer any serious injury.

Isan was lying in a pool of blood on the road when speaker MB Rajesh, who was travelling from Thrithala to Thiruvananthapuram, reached the spot. Soon after seeing the child, Rajesh stopped the car, got out of the vehicle and picked up the baby in his arms. Sahara, who was lying outside, and Shebin, who was in the driving seat, were unconscious. The speaker then instructed the policemen who escorted him to rush everyone to the hospital immediately. The three were first rushed in a police vehicle to the nearby Kazhakoottam CSI Mission Hospital and later to the Medical College. All three are out of danger. Shebin, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, said that the speaker called the hospital from time to time to inquire about the baby's health.
