THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) has informed Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited (KSITIL) that it will not be able to repay the salary paid to Swapna Suresh while she worked as a junior consultant at Space Park. PWC made its stand clear by rejecting KSITIL's demand to return the salary paid to Swapna.

Meanwhile, KSITIL has sought legal advice to recover the amount. The company has decided not to pay Rs 1 crore to the PWC for the K-FON project unless the latter repay the Rs 19 lakh.

It was PWC that appointed Swapna in the space park under KSITIL. The IT department had sanctioned Rs 19,06,730 as salary. Soon after Swapna was named an accused in the gold smuggling case and dismissed from her job, the financial audit division submitted a report stating that KSITIL MD should take immediate action to recover Rs 16,15,873, excluding GST, from PWC.
