Approval for Covid vaccine for children aged 5-12

NEW DELHI: The Drug Control General has approved the Covid vaccine for children under 12 years of age. Biological E's Corbevax vaccine is given license.

The vaccine is given to children between the ages of five and eleven years. At present, two vaccines are given in India to children between the ages of 12 and 14 years. The first round of vaccination for children began on January 13.

Corbevax vaccine had previously been approved for immediate use in adults. The two doses should be taken within 28-day intervals. The vaccine can be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
