Jignesh Mewani re-arrested soon after getting bail

GUWAHATI: Gujarat MLA and Dalit activist Jignesh Mewani, who was recently released on bail, has been re-arrested by the Assam police for assaulting officials. The Assam police re-arrested Jignesh soon after he was granted bail for the tweet against the Prime Minister.

Sources said that Mewani has been booked under various IPC sections related to voluntarily causing hurt, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duty

Jignesh was arrested by the Assam police last Wednesday from Palanpur in Gujarat over his tweets.
