Swift's revenue goes to KSRTC, don't trouble Corporation by conducting strike, says Minister

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Antony Raju has requested the trade unions not to conduct strike and to trouble KSRTC as they face decline in the number passengers after Covid. The Transport Minister today held discussions with the major trade unions with a view to ensure the survival of KSRTC and the proper payment of salaries to its employees. The minister said that it has been decided to arrange services in this. The minister said a committee comprising union representatives at the unit level would be set up to look into the issue. As part of this, there will be a monitoring committee at the district level as well. Minister Antony Raju blamed rising fuel prices for the current crisis.

The Minister said that the revenue of KSRTC Swift is for KSRTC. This month too, the state government will provide financial assistance to KSRTC. He said the finance ministry would decide whether to provide more than Rs 30 crore.
