Boy among four killed in car-lorry collision in Ambalappuzha, natives of capital city proceeding to Nedumbassery meet with accident

ALAPPUZHA: Four including a boy were killed in an accident that happened in Alappuzha on the national highway. The dead have been identified as Shaiju (34) of Paruthikuzhy at Uzhamalakkal in the capital city, his relative Abhirag, Sudheesh Lal of Aanad and his 12-year-old son Ambadi. Sudheesh Lal’s wife Shiny has been admitted at Vandanam Medical College Hospital in Alappuzha in a serious condition.

The family was proceeding to Nedumbassery Airport from Aanad in Nedumangad to see off Shiny Wednesday morning at 1 am. The accident happened at Payalkulangara near Alappuzha. There were five people in the car.

The car going to Ernakulam collided with the lorry laden with load coming from the opposite direction. The car has been completely damaged in the accident. Those stranded in the car were taken out after dismantling the car by the locals and the fire force. Four died on the spot itself. The lorry has sustained damages in the impact.
