MECCA: Noted businessman Yusuf Ali said that efforts are being made for the release of Nimisha Priya, a Malayalee nurse awarded death penalty in Yemen. He responded in Mecca.

Nimisha Priya sentenced to death is presently in a prison in Yemen. The family of the slain Talal has demanded blood money of Rs 50 million Yemen riyals. In Indian currency, it would be around Rs 1.5 crore. Her family and friends are trying to find this amount.
Yusuf Ali had earlier saved a Malayalee sentenced to death. He had similarly rescued Bex Krishna from Thrissur last year. A Sudanese boy was killed after being hit by the vehicle of Bex while working as a driver for a private company in Abu Dhabi.
Bex Krishnan was sentenced to death then. Bex was repatriated by Yusuf Ali after paying Rs 1 crore as compensation to the family of the Sudanese boy.
