'I have friendship with Dileep, have gone to his home'; probe team records statement of priest in actress assault case

KOCHI: The Crime Branch team investigating the actress assault case on Wednesday questioned a priest in connection with the case. During interrogation, the priest said that he had a friendship with Dileep and that he had gone to Dileep's house with Balachandra Kumar. The probe team had summoned Fr Victor of the Latin Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram for questioning after discovering documents from Dileep's phone which showed that Dileep had sent money to the priest's account.

The priest's statement was recorded at the Aluva Police Club. Earlier, Dileep had alleged that director Balachandra Kumar had demanded money from him through a priest.

Meanwhile, the actress has lodged a complaint with the Bar Council against Dileep's lawyers in the case.
