Two terrorists killed in Kashmir gunfight; arms recovered

SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were killed in a gunfight in Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The security forces have killed the terrorists, who were involved in a series of attacks against migrant labourers. Two AK 47 rifles were recovered from the slain terrorists.

The dead have been identified as local terrorists namely Aijaz Hafiz and Shahid Ayub of Al-Badr outfit. “They had been involved in series of attacks on outside labourers in Pulwama in the month of March-April 2022”, said Kashmir zone police.

The encounter took place in the Mitrigam area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, last night. A search operation was launched in the area, by a joint-team of police, CRPF and army, after specific input was generated by the Jammu Kashmir police about the presence of terrorists in the area.
