THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government had today sanctioned Rs 24.5 lakh to a lawyer who appeared for the government in the Periya double murder case. The money was allotted yesterday on the instructions of the Advocate General. The government order comes amid tight restrictions on treasuries following the financial crisis. Now, Congress leader and former MLA VT Balram has come out with a response mocking the government's decision.
'One should not miss Pinarayi Vijayan's large-heartedness of allotting Rs 24.50 lakhs to ensure that salary of the protectors of party-sponsored murderers is not delayed,' Balram wrote on his Facebook page.
