Rape case against Vijay Babu: Vital information obtained from witnesses, more to be testified today

KOCHI: The statement of more witnesses will be recorded today in the rape case against actor and producer Vijay Babu. The statement of eight including some from the film sector were registered. Evidence was obtained from them to confirm the actress' complaint.

Vijay Babu will approach the high court today seeking anticipatory bail. The actress had complained that Vijay Babu had raped her multiple times and physically assaulted her at his flat and a luxury hotel in Kochi from March 13 to April 14 in 2022.

A lookout notice was issued against Vijay Babu yesterday. The actress had lodged the complaint on April 22. The actor has gone abroad amidst police investigation. The investigating officials are considering to confiscate his passport. The investigation team had taken evidence from the actor's flat and luxury hotel in Kochi.
