Rape case: Complainant trying to blackmail me, Vijay Babu moves HC for anticipatory bail

KOCHI: Vijay Babu, actor and producer arraigned in the rape case, has moved the Kerala High Court for anticipatory bail. The plea said the complainant is trying to blackmail him.

It has become a fashion trying to insult people holding key posts in society in the name of MeToo allegations. Such an attempt is behind the move of the complainant.

The plea said that he has not raped her and her intention is to defame him. The court is likely to consider the plea today.

The complainant created a close bond for roles in films. He said that he is able to convince the court and the investigation team. His plea said that he has the WhatsApp chats and the videos and that the police are trying to join hands with the media.

Meantime, the police have received more evidences against Vijay Babu. They have got the CCTV visuals of Vijay Babu arriving at the hotel and flat in Kadavanthara with the actress. The complainant’s statement said that she was taken to five places and sexually abused between March 13 to April 14. The police also found that she was taken to five places and abused. The woman in her complaint said Vijay Babu raped her several times by offering her roles in films. The police had the other day issued a lookout notice against Vijay Babu, who had fled to Dubai.
