KOCHI: The crime branch chief has directed the investigation team to see that the information related to the case of attacking the actress, is not leaked. The directions were given at the meet convened to assess the progress of the investigation into the case.

Shaik Darvesh Saheb, who assumed charge after replacing S Sreejith, convened a special meeting yesterday. The entire officials of the investigation team in the actress attack case, attended the meeting held in the capital.

The high court had criticized the regular presence of evidence, including audio, on the channels. The former crime branch chief then had to explain himself directly to the court.

As the case is pending in the court, the probe team is concerned that such leaks could weaken the proceedings in the case.

Based on these circumstances, the crime branch chief directed that the information should not be leaked to the media and that the investigation should be completed within the time frame set by the court.
