PATIALA: A curfew was imposed in Patiala in the wake of clashes that erupted after the Shiv Sena activists chanted slogans against Khalistan during a march. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had held discussions with top officials following the clashes. This was followed by the issuance of the order imposing a curfew. The curfew will remain in effect from 7 pm today to 6 am tomorrow.
The violence erupted during an anti-Khalistan rally led by Shiv Sena state president Harish Singla today. The clash took place between Shiv Sena activists and some Sikhs near the Kali Mata temple in Patiala. The two groups shouted slogans and hurled stones at each. Four people, including a policeman, were hurt.
