THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are still continuing in the state. A warning has been issued in hilly areas. Yellow alert have been declared in Ernakulam and Malappuram. The northern districts will receive isolated showers and have chances of strong winds. The Central Meteorological Department has warned of isolated heavy showers in Kerala till Wednesday due to low pressure over southern India and combination of east and west winds.
Meanwhile, heavy rain on Friday caused extensive damage. Trees have been uprooted in Thamarassery. Power supply was disrupted in many places.
