Seven kilograms of gold hidden in underwear and socks; Couple held by customs at Karipur airport

MALAPPURAM: The Customs Department on Saturday caught a couple who smuggled gold in their underwears and socks. The incident took place at Karipur airport. The arrested are identified as Abdul Samad, a native of Perinthalmanna, and his wife Safna. The couple reached Karipur from Dubai earlier today.

The couple smuggled a total of seven kilograms and 300 grams of gold. The customs had seized at the airport 6 kg of gold the other day.
