Didn't demand not to release Hema committee report, didn't receive justice from film organizations; WCC rejects minister's claims

KOCHI: The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), a women's organization in the field of cinema, has rejected the Law Minister's claim that they asked not to release the Hema Committee report. WCC member Deedi Damodaran said the WCC had not asked for the report not to be released and had not received justice from the film industry.

At the same time, P Rajeev confirms that the WCC has asked not to the release the Hema Committee report. The organisation has demanded to implement recommendation mentioned in the report.

The minister said that the government will discuss the Hema Committee report on Wednesday at 11 am at Thiruvananthapuram Thycaud Guest House. He said that representatives from A.M.M.A WCC, MACTA, FEFKA and the Film Chamber have been invited. Representatives from KSFDC and Chalachithra Academy will also participate in the discussion, he added.

The government has decided to go into law making after hearing the opinion of the organizations. Earlier, Minister Saji Cheriyan had said that comprehensive legislation was the way forward.
