THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has announced that Tuesday will be a public holiday in the state to celebrate the Eid-Ul-Fitr. Tomorrow will be a holiday for all government institutions, educational institutions and banks under Negotiable Instruments Act.

The government had earlier declared a holiday, assuming that the festival would be on Monday. But as the crescent moon was not seen, it was announced that the Eid-Ul-Fitr would be on Tuesday. Despite the change in the day of the festival, the government had decided to continue today's declared holiday.
