NEW DELHI: The video of Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi partying with friends at a pub abroad has surfaced on social media. According to reports, the pub visuals are from Nepal. The leader’s absence from India amid the communal violence in Congress-ruled Rajasthan, has drawn in a lot of criticism from parties including the BJP. Rahul’s political rivals have made the party video go viral on social media. They have also lashed out at the Congress leadership citing the visuals.
“Vacation, Party, Holiday, Pleasure Trip, Private Foreign Visit etc are nothing new to the nation now", tweeted Union law minister Kiren Rijiju, in response to the video. “Rahul Gandhi was at a nightclub when Mumbai was under siege. He is at a nightclub at a time when his party is exploding. He is consistent”, BJP IT convener Amit Malviya said on Twitter. The party video was shared by BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga on Twitter, hours after the Congress mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Europe visit. The video shows Rahul Gandhi partying with another person in a night club in Kathmandu.
