KOTTAYAM: Everyone buys lottery tickets hoping to bring an end to all their burdens. There are many who have become millionaires in a single day. At the same time, there are several others who sadly throw away their tickets on losing the prize.

In a similar incident, fortune has favoured Chandra Babu, who owns a pan shop near Kottayam Medical College. He has won Rs 75 lakhs as the first prize of Win-Win lottery. The results were announced on Monday.

Chandra Babu had checked the results on Tuesday. After looking at prizes for small amounts, he threw away his ticket into a waste basket. However, when his friend Thankachan told him that his ticket’ number was somewhat close to the first prize, Chandra Babu, who was suspicious, took back the ticket and checked again.

Chandra Babu has been doing various jobs around the Medical College area, for the past 40 years. He dreams of owning a house and five cents of land.
