NEW DELHI: A tunnel built by terrorists was found at the Chak Faquira border post near the international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The 150 metre long tunnel, suspected to be used by terrorists for infiltration, was discovered by the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel.

The tunnel has been freshly dug. The BSF said that they have blocked the terrorists’ move to carry out violence against the Amarnath Yatra, to be held soon. The opening of the tunnel is about two feet in diameter. 21 sand sacks have also been recovered from the area. These are used to strengthen the opening of the tunnel.

This is the fifth tunnel to be discovered in a year and a half. The BSF alleged that it was part of a vicious ploy by the Pakistani government to create problems in India. According to reports, the tunnel has been used by two suicide bombers belonging to Jaish-e-Muhammad, based in Pakistan.
