A N Radhakrishnan is BJP candidate for Thrikkakara bypoll

KOCHI: A N Radhakrishnan is the BJP candidate for the Thrikkakara bypoll. The BJP central election commission announced the candidate. A N Radhakrishnan is the party state vice president.

The BJP garnered 15,218 votes in Thrikkakara in the last election. In 2016, the party got 15 percent votes (21,247). The BJP state leadership had earlier said that it would field a strong candidate this time.

The untimely demise of congress leader P T Thomas necessitated the Thrikkakara bypoll. The UDF candidate is Uma Thomas, wife of P T Thomas. Dr Jo Joseph is the LDF candidate.

The election will be held on May 31. Votes will be counted on June 3. The nominations can be filed till May 11. The scrutiny will be on May 12. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 16.
