PSC implements Supreme Court order, 545 people to be appointed from extended list

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Based on Supreme Court's order, the government has decided to appoint people in the rank lists which were canceled five years ago after the Court reversed government's contention that extending the rank list was at its discretion. From the rank lists canceled on December 30, 2016, 545 persons will be recruited. The decision comes after months of legal debates following the Supreme Court upholding the High Court judgment of March 1, 2018 on February 15, 2022.

People included in rank lists of Staff Nurse Grade 2, Assisstant Surgeon, HSST English, UPSA, Water Authority Overseer, KSEB Mazdoor, Driver Grade 2 and Water Authority Meter Reader will get appointment recommendation. Although about 200 lists have been canceled, out of the 16 rank lists that have been decided by the court, the appointment recommendation is in the 12 rank lists which reported vacancies between December 31, 2016 and June 29, 2017.
