ALAPPUZHA: The Vice-Principal of SH Nursing College, Cherthala is likely to face action for allegedly sexually abusing female students of the college. At the PTA meeting held today, the nursing council directed the management to take action on the students' complaints. The nursing council, which meets on May 13, will discuss the complaint against the vice-principal. The PTA meeting on May 21 will then look into whether the students' complaint has been resolved.

A nursing council member told the media that the vice principal had pleaded guilty and that the incident that had taken place in the college should not have happened in a civilized society. The member also said no one will be allowed to harass the complainants.

The students had earlier raised serious allegations against vice-principal Sister Preeta Mary.

In their complaint, the girls alleged that they faced sexual remarks and were harassed by the vice-principal for walking together. They also alleged that the vice-principal made sexual remarks questioning homo-sexuality and also about clothes worn by them. The students also stated that they were forced to clean the footwear of doctors and other employees.
