MALAPPURAM: The MSF has come out in support of Samastha Vice President MT Abdullah Musliyar, who has publicly insulted the organizers for inviting a class 10 girl to accept the prize. MSF state president PK Nawaz said it was an attempt to portray Muslim scholars as barbaric and anti-feminist.

'Those who try to portray Musliyar in a bad light should be isolated. Criticisms are not naive. These are propagated by certain communal organizations to promote Islamophobia,' Nawaz wrote on his Facebook page.

The incident took place at a ceremony that was held as part of the annual program of the Madrasa near Panangangara in Perinthalmanna. The authorities invited the girl to the stage to receive a prize for excellence in education. Soon Abdullah Musliyar publicly insulted the organizers in the presence of the girl by pointing out that this was against the idea of Samastha.

"Who called the class 10 girl to the stage? Will show you if girls are called to the stage once again. Don't call such girls here. Don't you know Samastha's decision? Tell the girl's parent to come. Are you doing unnecessary work in our presence?," Musliyar said on the stage.

The video came out through the Sunni Ulama Followers Facebook page related to Samastha. Musliyar's action has drawn a lot of criticism, including on social media.
