Thrissur Pooram: Fireworks display at 7 pm, pakalpooram and related rituals will be held as usual

THRISSUR: The fireworks of Thrissur Pooram will be held at 7 pm. It was earlier decided to conduct the fireworks Wednesday early morning at 3 am but was postponed following heavy rain. Meantime, pakalpooram and related rituals will be held as usual. The function of pooram cholli piriyal (bidding farewell) ceremony will be held at Sreemoolasthanam at 9 am.

Preparations for the fireworks to be held in the morning were complete. However, heavy rains played the spoilsport. With this, the fireworks were postponed. If the weather is favourable, the fireworks could take place at 7 pm, said the officials of the devasowm.

Heavy rains lashed the place at the time of Kudamattom. However, the place was packed and could not dampen the spirits of the people. The Kudamattom which started at 5.30 pm ended at 7 pm.
