THRISSUR: Fireworks display, the main attraction of Pooram, has been postponed again following heavy rain. The fireworks, which was scheduled to take place today, will take place on Sunday. During the day, Pakalpooram was held. Daytime fireworks were held in the city to the delight of the Pooram lovers. However, the rain started pouring in from the evening. The rain is due to Cyclone Asani.
Preparations for the fireworks were completed earlier this morning. But the heavy rains that started during the 'Kudamattam' display challenged the calculations of the organizers. With this, the fireworks display was postponed. Devaswom officials said the fireworks display could take place at 7 pm today if the weather is favorable. But it was postponed to Sunday evening due to heavy rain. Although it was raining heavily at the time of 'Kudamattam', the crowds did not back down and were enthusiastic. The ceremony that started at 5.30 pm ended at 7 pm.
