Refused to reveal secret medicine used in piles treatment, traditional medicine practitioner tortured and killed, body cut into pieces and thrown into river

MALAPPURAM: Four arrested including an industrialist in the torture and murder of traditional medicine practitioner who refused to reveal the secret of his piles treatment. The body was cut into pieces and thrown into Chaliyar river.

Shaibin (42), Shaibin's manager Wayanad Bathery Ponnakaran Shihabuddin (36), Thangalakath Noushad (41) and Shaib's driver Naduthodika Nishad (35) have been arrested. Shaibin's plan to know the secret medicine of piles resulted in the death.

The incident which took place a year and a half ago was revealed now as did not pay the amount promised to his co-accused and now lodged a complaint with the police after they broke into his house and robbed him of money.The murder took place in October 2020 at Shaib's house in Nilambur. The doctor was abducted in August 2019. In August 2019, the family had lodged a complaint with the Mysore Saraswathipuram police station that Shaba Sharif was missing.

The police have decided to focus the investigation on circumstantial evidence, eyewitness statements and digital evidence. Under the supervision of SP, DYSPs Saju K. Abraham, KM Biju and Inspector P Vishnu are investigating the case.
