Re-auction for Thar jeep at Guruvayur temple, decision taken at Devaswom meeting

kk

THRISSUR: The Thar Jeep donated by Mahindra Company at Guruvayur temple will be re-auctioned. The Devaswom Administrative Committee meeting had decided to implement the order of the Devaswom Commissioner. It was decided at the meeting chaired by Devaswom Chairman Dr VK Vijayan to inform the public about the date of Thar re-auction through the press and media.

The first bidder was Amal Mohammad from Ernakulam. But the current decision is taken based on the complaint that the auction cannot be completed with a single person.

Amal Mohammad Ali, an expatriate businessman from Bahrain and a native of Edappally, Ernakulam, bought the Thar car donated by the Mahindra Company at the Guruvayur temple. Although the auction was temporarily adjourned, the Guruvayur Devaswom chairman responded that the release of the vehicle may need to be reconsidered. The car was presented to the Guruvayur Temple by the Mahindra Group on December 4, 2021. The red color diesel option limited edition was given to the temple as donation.
