KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took the helm of the campaign actively at the CPM local committee meetings to ensure the victory of the LDF in Thrikkakara.
Pinarayi participated in ten local committee meetings yesterday. He spends up to an hour at each meeting evaluating everything from the activities of each local committee to the details of the vote. The aim is to garner maximum votes. With Pinarayi's participation, the aim is to make the local committee members more active at the grassroot level.
This victory is essential for the LDF to secure 100 seats in the Assembly and to ensure that development projects, including K-Rail, are approved by the people. The Chief Minister will camp in Kochi for four days. He will also analyze the day-to-day activities of the campaign.
Though there are indications that a Congress district committee member had held discussions with Pinarayi yesterday, it has not been confirmed. Minister R Bindu visited the constituency yesterday.
Ministers K.N. Balagopal, Veena George, Saji Cheriyan, Mohammad Riyaz, G.R. Anil will campaign in the constituency today.
