China recalls citizens from Pakistan in wake of series of terrorist attacks

china

KARACHI: Recent news from Pakistan is hinting that China has lost its trust in Pakistan following a series of terrorist attacks. According to a recent report, China has recalled all its citizens teaching Mandarin at Karachi University. The decision comes weeks after a suicide bombing at the university. Four people, including three Chinese nationals, were killed that day. The Majeed Brigade, affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army in Pakistan, had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Teachers from other centers teaching the Chinese language at Karachi University also returned to China the other day. About 500 students are currently studying Mandarin at the university, said Dr. Nasir Uddin, director of the Confucius Institute. The return of teachers will significantly affect the learning of these children. The Confucius Institute is a non-profit organization run jointly by China and Pakistan to enhance international relations.
