Eight candidates in Thrikkakara, five independent candidates, Uma Thomas' name appears first in the ballot

KOCHI: Eight candidates are contesting in the Thrikkakara by-election. As the deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers ended today, the total number of candidates has been finally confirmed. The name of UDF candidate Uma Thomas appears first in the ballot.

The second name on the list is LDF candidate Jo Joseph and the third is BJP candidate A.N Radhakrishnan. There are five independent candidates. Only independent candidate Jomon Joseph has a name similar to that of LDF candidate. Jomon Joseph's symbol is sugarcame farmer and his name appears fifth. Anil Nair, CP Dileep Kumar, Bosco Kalamassery and Manmadhan are other independent candidates. The Returning Officer informed that all the other candidates were given the symbol they asked for.
