No mystery in Rifa’s death; it is a suicide, says post mortem report

KOZHIKODE: The post mortem report of vlogger and album artist Rifa Mehnu said she committed suicide by hanging. The report said the marks seen in her neck are that of hanging and that there is no mystery in the death. The results of her internal organs has not been obtained.

She was found hanging at her flat in Jafilia, Dubai on March 1. Her body reached Pavandoor on March 4 and was laid to rest. Rifa's family had lodged a complaint with the Kozhikode Rural Superintendent of Police alleging that there was no chance for her to commit suicide and raised suspicion on her husband's behaviour.

Rifa’s family alleged that her husband Mehnas, a native of Kasargod (26) is behind her death. Following that, a case has been registered for assaulting her mentally and physically and for abetment to suicide.

On the previous day of her death, Rifa who reached home after work, had video called and spoke to her two-year-old son and parents in Kerala. The next day they heard her death and this caused suspicion.

Mehnas had first informed that her post mortem was conducted in Dubai. The body was brought home and laid to rest in half an hour. This led to the suspicion.
