THRIUVANANTHAPURAM: K-Rail has clarified that the team of officials will now come to the houses to do GPS marking instead of the stone laying which was done as per the alignment determination done by geo tagging. The mobile device which is in their possession will indicate which part of the land the Silverline path passes through. They will be accompanied by a social impact study team. The alignment seen through the mobile device can vary up to one metre.

However, accurate alignment can only be determined through the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS). This will also be utilized. Only one system can be used in an area.

The second system is powered by five satellites that know the Earth's latitude and longitude. A substation will be required to collect information from it.

K-Rail has all the tools needed for GPS marking. Environmental impact assessment will be completed after the monsoon said V. Ajith Kumar, K-Rail MD.
