Money to be doubled in ten months, four including women arrested in new scam through app

ADIMALY: Four including two women have been arrested in a fraud case after promising to double their money in ten months. The Adimaly police arrested Saritha (29), wife of Eldos of Adimaly, Shyamala (56), wife of Pushkaran of Kottayam, Jayakumar (42) and Vimal Pushkaran on the complaint of cheating Rs 20 lakh from the natives of Adimaly. They had swindled Rs 20 lakh from five people coming under 200-acre sector in Adimaly. They accepted money through online app.

The team took the depositors into confidence by paying double the money to the investors in the beginning. The main link in the scam is Saritha, an auto driver in Adimaly. The other three members of the team are from the same family. They have been accepting money from investors since 2021. The accused had gone underground by the time a complaint was lodged with the Adimaly police two months ago. Following the directive of Idukki ASP Raj Prasad, sub inspectors’ T P Judy, Abdul Khani and T M Noushad Abbas arrested the accused.
