SIT says Sarath got footage of assault on actress, named as 15th accused

KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) said that the footage recorded by Pulsar Suni while assaulting the actress had reached Sarath G Nair, Dileep's friend and owner of Surya Hotel and Travels in Aluva. This is said in a report filed in the Angamaly Magistrate's Court naming Sarath as the 15th accused in the case. It is unknown at this time how Sarath got the footage. He was charged under Section 201 of the IPC with destruction of evidence and concealment of evidence.

Indications are that the report was issued quickly as part of ending the re-investigation. Sarath is the only person included in the list of accused. So far, 15 people have been accused in the case. Three accused turned approvers. Two had been released earlier. The Angamaly Magistrate's Court will forward the report to the Sessions Court the next day.

According to director Balachandra Kumar, it was Sarath who brought the footage of the attack on the actress to Dileep's 'Padmasarovaram' house in Aluva, where Dileep and his friends saw the footage. Sarath says he has not seen the footage and it is not in his possession. Sarath is the sixth accused in a case of conspiracy to endanger the investigating officers. Dileep will remain the eighth accused. According to the SIT, crucial information has been gathered against Dileep in the re-investigation. Kavya was also included as a witness in the additional chargesheet.
