Popular Front rally: Case taken against child's provocative slogans

ALAPPUZHA: Police have registered a case in the incident where a child chanted provocative slogans during Popular Front rally. According to IPC 153A, on the charge of inciting religious hatred, the Alappuzha South police have registered a case against the organizers and those who brought the child to the event .

The Special Branch DYSP had reported to the district police chief that the provocative slogan was chanted at a rally in Alappuzha on Saturday. It is learned that central agencies have also sought reports in this regard.

The visuals of the incident surfaced on social media. The Special Branch reports that the visuals are real. Police identified the boy who chanted the slogan and his parents. However, Popular Front says that the slogan was not approved by the organization.

Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) alleges that the government refuses to take action on this issue.
