Two more arrested in heroin smuggling case; NIA inspection in Kanyakumari

NAGERCOIL: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two more persons in connection with the seizure of heroin worth Rs 1,526 crore from fishing boats off the coast of Lakshadweep. Arbadali and Faisal Rahman, both residents of Pudukottai, who had rented a boat to the accused were arrested.

Meanwhile, the NIA team inspected the coastal areas of Tuticorin and Vallavila in Kanyakumari district in connection with the incident. A special team led by the Kanyakumari district police chief and the Tamil Nadu Q branch also launched an investigation. Earlier, 20 people were arrested in the incident. The second and third accused have several cases against them.
