THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Veena George has directed doctors and other staff in all medical college hospitals in the state to wear ID cards. Security personnel should check and confirm this. This is due to the fact that the incident where a young man pretended to be a doctor at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and cheated the patients was found to be a serious security breach.
Only one person at a time will be allowed as a bystander for a patient. Extra pass may be issued only on the advice of a doctor. The Minister directed the Director of Medical Education to issue a warning to all hospital superintendents in this regard. The minister also said that those who have any suspicions about the behaviour of the employees in the hospitals should immediately inform the security personnel.
